Human & Social Development

Preparing Students Today to be Tomorrow’s Leaders

Our area’s programs in the social and behavior sciences, as well as pre-professional programs in education and business meet the needs of part- and full-time students, preparing them with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to stay ahead of tomorrow’s challenges. Programs in our area help prepare students for success in all aspects of life; for careers such as teaching, law, marketing, sales, management, counseling, and many positions in the criminal justice system; or for study at the graduate level. We are an active learning community where students have easy access to high-quality faculty inside and outside of classes.  Our students benefit from strong internship and practicum programs in major corporations, non-profit organizations, and schools in the local and regional area.

Meet Our Students

Marie G. Exume

Marie G. Exume realizes the College of Saint Elizabeth can give her the future she wants.

Tom Cartwright

For Tom Cartwright, MA Justice Administration and Public Service, ’15, a trip to the car wash a few months back should have been just routine.  However, it became a watershed moment when he began talking with fellow dirty car owner Dr. Jim Ford.

Barbara Beresova

Barbara Beresova, ’13, Psychology, is realizing her dream. After moving more than 4,000 miles to New Jersey from Slovakia, she stands on the brink of college graduation;  remarkable, considering she did not even speak English when arriving in the States seven years ago. At that time, her mother Helena accepted a position as a health aide for an elderly gentleman in Basking Ridge N.J. Little did they know that from there, Beresova would find her way to the College of Saint Elizabeth (CSE).

Jared J. Rumage

“I truly enjoyed my time as a graduate student and the opportunity to collaborate with so many outstanding educators…My experience challenged me to move outside my comfort zone resulting in substantial personal growth.”

Giovanna Cooper Peacock

One computer click can change your life. Late one evening, Giovanna Cooper Peacock, ’13, MA Counseling Psychology, was researching graduate programs from her home in Union, N.J. when an advertisement for the College of Saint Elizabeth (CSE) popped up.  Clicking on that ad started her journey to Morristown, N.J., and to a graduate degree in counseling psychology.
