Overview

The Art department provides the artistically talented student with the opportunity to become skilled and aesthetically enriched by a variety of art experiences leading to competency in the field of art. The Art department offers opportunities for the entire student population to become skilled in artistic techniques and to develop aesthetic awareness by providing both art history and studio courses necessary and useful in attaining a liberal education. The availability  of a computer laboratory with extensive state of the art software enhances the incorporation of computer generated graphics in courses.

B.A. in Art

The Art department provides the artistically talented student with the opportunity to become skilled and aesthetically enriched by a variety of art experiences leading to competency in the field of art. By earning a Bachelor of Arts degree, the student is prepared for entrance into art related professions as well as graduate study. The Art department offers opportunities for the entire student population to become skilled in artistic techniques and to develop aesthetic awareness by providing both art history and studio courses necessary and useful in attaining a liberal education. The availability of a computer laboratory with extensive state of the art software enhances the incorporation of computer generated graphics in courses. Minor in Art

The Art department provides the artistically talented student with the opportunity to become skilled and aesthetically enriched by a variety of art experiences leading to competency in the field of art. There are opportunities for the entire student population to become skilled in artistic techniques and to develop aesthetic awareness by providing both art history and studio courses necessary and useful in attaining a liberal education. The availability of a Macintosh laboratory with extensive hard- and software enhances the incorporation of computer generated graphics in courses. CSE Art Professor Finishes Sculptures for St. Joseph's Regional Hospital's New Main Lobby

August 13, 2010 After two months, CSE Art Professor Sister Anne Haarer has completed her latest masterpiece: a set of three, low-relief medallions scheduled to be displayed in the new main lobby of St. Joseph's Regional Hospital in Paterson, N.J.

CSE Art Gallery Opens Portrait Exhibition

June 08, 2010 The Therese A. Maloney Art Gallery in Annunciation Center at CSE opened Who We Are: Contemporary Portraits exhibition with a reception June 10. The exhibition runs throught August 15, 2010.
