History can be a way to connect people with different backgrounds and raise awareness of important events in society. For Megan Cullinane, '16, it's not just a major, it's a passion.
"The empowerment of women here has made me more confident," she said, going on to describe her positions as treasurer of the Commuter Council and member of both the National Historical Honors Society and the CSE honors program.

An understanding of the past promotes full comprehension of the present and expectations for the future. The study of history affords students better analytic and reasoning skills, research abilities and tools for clear expression. Courses in History draw from both American and regional history, providing perspective on global events and an understanding of the human factors influencing them. Minors are available in both History and Political Science.
