Alice attended Saint Elizabeth's Academy in grammar and high school, then began her college-level studies at CSE. She has the distinction of being the 100th student to enroll at the College.
While a student she lived in St. Clare Hall, which later housed the office of the Alumnae Association. Her daughter, Barbara Hogarty Gault, graduated with the Class of 1942.
Alice became the first Executive Director of the Alumnae Association in 1946. Her accomplishments include beginning the Alumna in May 1947, and the Annual Giving Fund in 1952. During her tenure membership in the Association grew from 800 to 4,000. Alice was the first recipient of the Mother Xavier Award in 1956.
In the notice announcing her retirement, The Alumna thanked her for her organizational skills and for "her graciousness, friendliness and charm," with which she "represented the College of Saint Elizabeth in a manner which reflects the true Elizabethan at her best."
Alice died on March 19, 1975.
