An Economics Major, Therese worked for Liberty Mutual Group from 1951-94. She was this large insurance company's first woman Assistant Vice President, Vice President, Senior Vice President, and Executive Vice President responsible for Under-writing operations.
In another first, she was President of four Liberty 44 Mutual subsidiary companies, as well as a member of the Board of Directors of Liberty Mutual and its many subsidiaries. Professionally Therese earned the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter designation in 1960, and was the first woman elected President of the Boston Chapter. In addition she completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School in 1985.
Therese has participated in United Way activities within her company and community. This organization honored her for her contributions of time and expertise.
Therese is a member of CSE's Board of Trustees and the Alumnae Association Board of Directors. She received the Mother Xavier Award (1986) and the President's Award (1997).
Therese's mother attended the College, and her two older sisters graduated from CSE. As such, "St. Elizabeth's was always an integral part of my life. My values, my assurance that I was capable of attaining what was deemed to be unattainable by a woman was derived from this and my family background."
